This week, we meet a new Making Common Ground focus group, to discuss the big news of the last few days. Top of the agenda is the recent local elections, which saw further pain inflicted on Labour, as Sir Keir Starmer lost another seat thanks to a pummelling in Hartlepool.

There was little surprise at the result, with our focus group agreeing that Stamer lacks charisma and a connection with people, while Boris Johnson and his 2019 slogan of 'Get Brexit Done' still stands out. By contrast, the verdict on Starmer is that he is "a wet paper bag" and the "worst replacement I could have picked".

Meanwhile, we also discuss the possibility of a second Scottish independence referendum - and why that could be another Brexit-style Pandora's Box.
